The Role

We are seeking an energetic Financial Analyst, who will fit into a fun and fast paced environment as a hands-on contributor in the organization. Reporting to the Controller, this position will support a team in overseeing the accounting, tax, and financial reporting related functions of the organization, in accordance with IFRS.

You Will Have The Opportunity To:
  • Own the day-to-day bookkeeping functions - daily maintenance of the full cycle accounting process, including but not limited to processing accounts payable, accounts receivable, coding bank/ credit card transactions and posting journal entries, preparing balance sheet reconciliations and preparation of working papers.
  • Own the invoicing and accounts receivable process - generating invoicing, monitoring the aged accounts receivable balances, posting payments and following up with the customers for the payment.
  • Own the payment process - reviewing AP bills, preparing the weekly pay run, setting up payment in the bank and posting payments.
  • Work with external auditors to support quarterly reviews and the annual audit.
  • Identify and recommend improvements to optimize the company\xe2\x80\x99s financial processes.
  • Contribute to other management reports and analysis and special projects as required.
What You Will Bring
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree or diploma in Commerce/ Accounting/ Business Administration.
  • 1+ year of proven experience in finance or accounting roles.
  • Strong financial acumen, problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Impeccable accuracy with numbers and high attention to detail.
  • Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and GSuite; knowledge of Sage Intacct and Quickbooks Online considered an asset.
  • Quick learner with a willingness to explore and learn new technologies for the benefit of streamlining processes and eliminating redundancies.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with an ability to collaborate cross functionally and provide exceptional customer service.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a fast paced environment and identify process improvements and efficiencies.
  • Ability to work both independently and cross-functionally in an autonomous work environment.
  • Completion (or working towards completion) of a professional accounting designation (i.e. CPA) considered an asset.
  • Prior experience with a SaaS company, subscription-based business model considered an asset.
