About the role

We\xe2\x80\x99re looking for an Intermediate or Senior Financial Analyst to join our growing Developer Surety team!

Developer Surety bonds are a specialized type of credit used by developers who are planning to build new residential real estate projects. Developer Surety bonds satisfy provincial legislation by providing warranty and deposit protection for new home buyers. Intact is an approved issuer of Tarion bonds in Ontario and provides deposit insurance and warranty coverage in Ontario, British Columbia, Alberta and Quebec, along with other surety products required by real estate developers.

What you\xe2\x80\x99ll do here:

Analyze financial statements and other underwriting information to evaluate our client\'s capabilities and creditworthiness.

Analyze the financial metrics and other characteristics of proposed real estate development projects.

Prepare proposals describing the terms and conditions on which we will provide Developer Surety products to our clients and negotiate such terms with clients to successful conclusion.

Monitor a diverse portfolio of complex real estate development projects and perform the tasks required by our Developer Surety products to provide credit for these projects within underwriting guidelines and authority.

Prioritize workflow to maximize productivity, meet deadlines, and respond within service level expectations.

Build effective working relationships with brokers and clients, delivering Developer Surety solutions in a professional and responsive manner.

Create new business opportunities through networking with brokers, clients, developers, consultants, lawyers and other real estate development industry participants.

Maintain a strong knowledge of the real estate development industry trends, market conditions, and current challenges and opportunities.

Represent Intact at various surety and real estate development industry functions, forums and events.

Gain and expand upon industry knowledge to improve underwriting decisions.

What you bring to the table:

A minimum of two (2) years of Developer Surety or commercial lending experience.

College diploma or university degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or Economics would be essential for succeeding in this role.

Solid understanding of financial and accounting principles, commercial lending, and corporate financial statements. Understanding of the real estate development industry and construction processes would be an asset.

Strong analytical thinking with effective communication and problem-solving skills.

Experience in building relationships with brokers, clients, bankers, and lawyers would be an asset.

High level of integrity, confidentiality and accountability.

Self-motivated, detail and results oriented and customer service driven.

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.

Can work independently and collaborate with co-workers in a team setting.

Excellent organizational skills and proficiency with MS Office Suite.
