:We are looking for a Financial Analyst to join our team in the education industry. This role offers a long-term contract employment opportunity. As a Financial Analyst, you will be responsible for the preparation of analyses, reconciliations and the provision of financial and system advice to ensure the financial reporting requirements have been met. The incumbent will support with external audits, compliance with government reporting requirements, and collaboration with various stakeholders.Responsibilities:

• Prepare financial analyses, cash projections, journal entries, reconciliations, year end working papers, monthly reporting schedules to ensure accurate financial records and reporting are maintained

• Compile data for ministry reporting or other regulatory reporting requirements as needed and submit the completed reports on a timely basis

• Assist in the preparation of the quarterly and year-end financial statements and reporting packages

• Prepare projections, forecasts, capital budgets

• Support Manager, Financial Reporting in providing leadership, direction and support to team members including proactive guidance, troubleshooting support and issues escalation

• Coordinate activities relating to monthly, quarterly and year-end close with budget holders to ensure that all financial transactions have been recorded accurately and on a timely basis

• Other duties as assigned

Requirements:xc2xb7 Minimum four (4) year degree in Business, Accounting, or the equivalent education and accounting or auditing experiencexc2xb7 CPA Canada designation requiredxc2xb7 Minimum of three (3) years progressive experience gained in an accounting or auditing environmentxc2xb7 Advanced Excel skills with the ability to design and maintain spreadsheets (e.g. Pivot Tables, HLookup, VLookup, Macros etc.)xc2xb7 Experience working with spreadsheet and/or database software (e.g. Access)xc2xb7 Self-starter with high initiative in delivering resultsxc2xb7 Proven organizational skills to balance the demands and deadlines of the positionxc2xb7 Able to maintain a high degree of confidentialityxc2xb7 Proven problem-solving and analytical skillsxc2xb7 Proven high attention to detail and accuracy
