In the upcoming year, we are embarking on an exciting journey marked by transformative changes, notably the implementation of a new ERP system. The Financial Analyst - Operations will play a pivotal role in this process to ensure the seamless integration and success of this undertaking.


General:





Reporting to the CFO, the Financial Analyst - Operations role specializes in tracking and analyzing the costs associated with the JD Sweid Foods production. The primary responsibility is to collect, analyze, and report financial information related to the costs of production, operations, and business activities.


Responsibilities:




Support New Product Development

: Collaborate with Product Development and Operations to prepare detailed cost estimates for new products, incorporating material, labour, and overhead components.

Ensure Accurate Product Costing

: Conduct regular reviews of existing product costs to verify accuracy and assess changes in cost drivers.

Analyze Cost Variances

: Investigate and explain differences between actual, standard, and estimated costs, providing insights to drive operational improvements.

Manage ERP Product Setup

: Set up new products in the ERP system, including inventory master data, bills of materials (BOMs), routings, and standard costs.

Maintain Accurate Production Standards

: Develop and update production standards in the ERP system, ensuring they reflect current process times, yields, and cost rates.

Review Overhead & Labour Rates

: Perform periodic reviews and adjustments of standard labour and overhead application rates based on up-to-date operational data.

Monitor Inventory & Cost Drivers

: Analyze inventory valuation and product cost structures, including factors such as scrap, obsolescence, and rework.

Drive Cost Savings

: Partner with Operations to identify, measure, and track cost-saving opportunities in support of continuous improvement initiatives.

Deliver Meaningful Reporting

: Prepare and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly reports on key performance metrics such as production output, yields, and cost per unit, comparing results to targets and prior-year benchmarks.

Qualifications:




Dedicated and detail-oriented person with a high level of initiative. Two to three years of finance analysis and accounting experience in a manufacturing environment. Analytical problem-solving skills. Strong communication skills, including presentation of analysis. Strong time management, prioritization, and multitasking skills. Strong communication skills to build relationships with various departments. Above average Excel Skills (including Power Pivot) and working knowledge of data modelling, and Power BI. Working towards or possessing an accounting designation (CPA) is preferred.

Working Environment:
