Description :
The Financial Analyst, Finance Reporting & Projects, is part of the Corporate Finance team overseeing the Company's financial reporting, quarter end, and month end cycles. The Financial Analyst will assist in the preparation of timely and accurate monthly financial statements, balance sheet reconciliations, and supporting analysis for financial statement line items. The Financial Analyst will ensure the necessary organizational and compliance controls are maintained, prepare P&L and balance sheet analyses, and research and explain variances from both plan (budget) and comparable prior reporting periods (past business trends).
Your role

  • Collect, organize, and review month-end financial reports and statements to ensure completeness and accuracy. Prepare monthly reconciliation of key accounts.
  • Perform period-end close activities and prepare business-level financial statements under ASPE.
  • Prepare supporting working papers, including the documentation of procedures, that meet internal control and external audit requirements.
  • Take ownership of the fixed assets and intangible assets accounting process, including maintaining monthly schedules and preparing supporting journal entries.
  • Prepare recurring management reporting packages and supporting commentary.
  • Business partnering with assigned groups (e.g., Finance, Operations, Real Estate, IT) to provide insights and financial analysis.
  • Take initiative and retain ownership to improve process effectiveness and efficiency by partnering with key stakeholders within the business. Foster discussions with colleagues, operational leads, admins, and finance leads to recommend and drive process improvement.
  • Participate in special projects within broader operations and finance teams as required.
What you will need to be successful
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or equivalent.
  • CPA designation or enrollment in the CPA program.
  • Minimum 1 to 3 years of accounting or financial report analysis experience.
  • Strong knowledge of financial accounting practices, financial reporting, accounting standards, policies, and systems.
  • Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Suite, specifically in Excel.
  • Working knowledge of Netsuite is an asset.
  • Strong interpersonal skills & collaborative mindset.
  • Results-oriented with problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Detail-oriented.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
