We are currently looking for a motivated and dynamic team player to fill the position of Senior Accountant, who will be the lead go to person for the Assistant Controller, training new accountants and helping with the financial management and control of the general ledgers for the Group - USA operations. This includes areas as such as preparing financial reports, maintain accounting and financial records, including general ledger, regulatory and management reports. The Senior Accountant will also own the forecast and budget process for some of the related accounts requiring their expert knowledge.

Key responsibilities:

• Provide training to new accounting employees.
• Help the Supervisor with the administration of the team
• Prepare month end variance analysis for the balance sheet and income statement.
• Prepare complex account analysis and the related journal entries
• Review and approve various GL analysis and tax payments prepared by members of the group
• Assist in preparing monthly journal entries for hourly payroll of various entities
• Assist in report the benefits figures on a quarterly basis and propose any adjustment to assistant controller and provide analysis on the benefits adjustments when needed
• Assist in analyzing payroll information and ask questions on variances when needed
• Prepare all the analysis of foreign exchange for all entities and book the appropriate journal entries.
• Prepare yearly analytical analysis and files for the year end audit.
• Assist FP&A team with the budget and forecast process for IFRS 16, tax compliance & advisory, legal and help the assistant controller with the review of the general accounting forecast and budget templates.
• Perform monthly analysis of various accounts such as legal, audit and various tax accounts.
• Review GL accounts analysis, bank reconciliations and cash flow
• Prepare some analysis needed for the year-end audit and assist the auditors with their questions.
• Has banking access and enters both customer and supplier wire payment information into our banking platform, Provides the senior Finance Leadership team with supporting documentation so that they can approve payments
• Participates and ensures compliance in the Annual inventory count, which normally takes place at different geographies from the home office.
• Assist with other special projects

Job requirements:
Education & Certificates

• CPA Designation
• 3 to 5 years of related experience
• Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with experience working within a global setting.
• Excellent writing and presentation skills.
• Proficiency with PowerPoint and Microsoft Excel.
• A reputation for being dedicated, resourceful and able to work well both independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent leadership, proactive and self-motivated; excellent organizational skills, and detail-orientation are all crucial.
• Adaptable and flexible in a changing environment
• Bilingual (English and French)
