Principle Accountabilities: The Financial Analyst will report into the Controller and will own financial activities and reporting related to our multifunctional hub. This role will provide analytics and insights related to headcount and expenses for the hub. You will be accountable to ensure that multifunctional hub reporting is completed accurately by proper groups/entities. You will also be accountable to ensure that all required expenses are accurately recorded for our multifunctional hub cost centres (accruals/corrections). Finally, you will be accountable to ensure that expenses are billed back through intercompany billing, to the appropriate legal entities (as required). In this newly created role, the successful incumbent will work closely with their stakeholders (global & local) to provide recommendations to optimize processes. The candidate will also be accountable for the management of multifunctional hub partner interactions. This will include ensuring that our partners are aware of required processes and procedures. Existing or newly developed processes pertaining to either headcount or expenses need to be documented, and then shared with our partners. Be a liaison for the Marketing Company and Tax, in relation to our multifunction hub growth. Ensure that documentation is maintained as to which cost centres are to be invoiced and with which frequency and what g/l\xe2\x80\x99s are invoiced at cost and what g/l items are to be invoiced at markup (and at which rate). The successful candidate will work with all levels of the AstraZeneca organization to understand multifunctional hub current results, budgets, and any potential opportunities and/or risks to Company. This position is an important business partner and well positioned to lead thinking on how to drive improvements. The successful candidate will possess strong business acumen, collaboration, and analytical skills (especially with Microsoft Excel and Power BI). Analysis and Reporting

  • Monthly reporting of both headcount and expenses by multifunctional hub group (including monitoring of intercompany billbacks)
  • Monthly monitoring and tracking of multifunctional headcount growth to latest plan.
  • Monthly maintain a list of all multifunctional hub cost centres including which business group/legal entity they belong to along with associated partner contact information.
  • Quarterly business updates as required related to required accrual updates or corrections related to headcount and/or expenses.
  • Half Yearly facilitation of seat charge updates. Provide Marketing company with current/projected headcount by group for purposes of seat charge allocation. Assist in global communications of seat charge changes.
  • Provide insights on emerging trends and identify short- and long-term risks and opportunities.
Business Partnership
  • Facilitate bi-annual seat charge updates in collaboration with our global financial services team and our multifunctional hub groups, to review of marketing company operating costs and headcount allocations.
  • Will lead, embrace, and have a passion for process improvement and implement action plans collaboratively with your business partners.
Systems
Will become a BI expert and leverage AstraZeneca systems to develop insights and solutions to complex business problems. Skills, Knowledge, and Education Requirements:
  • A self-motivated business contributor who demonstrates strategic thinking, analysis, and leadership skills.
  • Effective communicator with the ability to develop strong relationships and influence all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to work well with your team and across diverse global teams.
  • Ability to independently analyze, interpret and integrate multiple data sources, identify issues/opportunities, and implement solutions.
  • Accounting fundamentals \xe2\x80\x93 understands the basic principles of accounting (e.g., accruals; cost centers; budgeting).
  • Strong ability in assessing processes and recommending improvements
  • A proactive self-starter who challenges the status quo and seeks to continuously improve.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize, and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Fluency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint are critical.
  • Preferred knowledge of SAP and BI.
Education Requirements:
  • Undergraduate business or accounting degree. Preference to candidates working toward their professional accounting designation.
Experience Requirements:
  • Minimum 3-5 years\xe2\x80\x99 related experience
