Financial Analyst (2 Year Contract)

Job Description

Position Summary:
Manage fixed assets to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with accounting standards including recording monthly journal entries, reconciliations, and capex reports.
Position Responsibilities:Update the fixed asset management sub-ledger for all new additions, retirements and depreciation by company or business unit. Update capex reports for fixed asset additions, transfers to/from WIP, retirements, and disposals by department Ensure accurate calculation and recording of depreciation. Support invoice coding for capex additions from accounts payable. Assist with regular reconciliation between the general ledger and the asset management sub-ledger. Assist with annual transponder inventory count and resolve difference. Assist with audit schedules and documentation. Collaborate with departments to ensure proper asset classification. Assist with monthly and quarterly fixed assets variance analysis to support accurate financial reporting. Prepare routine and ad-hoc reports and analysis in a timely manner to all queries from manager. Prepare monthly accrual journal entries for corporate purchasing credit card program Prepare monthly prepaid entries for operating entity and maintain prepaid schedule including additions, write offs and amortization and schedule for AP holdbacks. Assist with preparation of supporting schedules for HST filing. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree and/or Finance/Accounting Designation (or equivalent work experience) preferred (minimum 3 years working experience). Exceptional communication and collaboration skills in a team setting Commitment to personal growth and development. Must be pro-active and have a positive attitude. Good organization and leadership skills. In depth understanding of MS Excel, PowerPoint and Word. Experience with PeopleSoft accounting software would be an asset.
