We are seeking an intermediate-level Financial Accountant to join our growing finance team. This role plays a critical part in supporting the financial health and operational integrity of the firm and its related entities. The position is responsible for full-cycle accounting, tax coordination, and audit support across a multi-entity structure, enabling the business to meet regulatory requirements and make sound financial decisions.



Key Accountabilities

Month-End Close and Financial Reporting


Manage client billing, general journal entries, reconciliations (intercompany, GST, cash), and FX processes Maintain monthly working papers including loan schedules, accruals, and prepaid amortization Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports and perform variance analysis

Audit and Compliance


Prepare quarterly ASC compliance reports Assist in preparing annual financial statements and supporting documentation Coordinate with auditors to respond to queries and ensure audit readiness

Tax Coordination


Lead tax processes across entities, including tax estimates, schedules, instalment payments, and coordination with external tax advisors Support resolution of tax audits and ensure compliance across corporate, trust, partnership, and individual filings

Process and Systems Improvement


Contribute to accounting system improvements or conversions Recommend and implement financial process enhancements to increase efficiency and control

Cross-Functional and Ad Hoc Support


Partner with other teams to provide timely and accurate financial data Assist with ad hoc financial analysis and projects as required



What Success Looks Like
Accurate and timely month-end close and reporting Audit-ready financial statements with minimal rework Strong, proactive relationships with auditors and tax advisors Ongoing identification and execution of process improvements Reliable and accessible financial data that supports decision-making



Qualifications
CPA designation (required) 3+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least one year post-designation Strong working knowledge of financial statement preparation and supporting documentation Experience with personal and/or corporate tax principles (asset) Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with Sage Intacct or similar accounting software (preferred)
