Position Description

SickKids has launched \xe2\x80\x9cProject Horizon\xe2\x80\x9d, a long-term plan for the renewal of the SickKids campus and the foundation for an integrated and seamless paediatric healthcare system. The goal of Project Horizon is to ensure that SickKids can continue to deliver top quality, specialized paediatric care by investing in the facilities and technology necessary to achieve its important mandate. We are currently looking for a Summer Student to join Project Horizon. In this position, you will report to the Sr. Finance Business Partner and support the Project Controller as required. You will be responsible for supporting the financial and reporting activities of Project Horizon team. Here\xe2\x80\x99s What You\xe2\x80\x99ll Get To Do:

• Assist the PH Finance team with the fiduciary responsibility and accountability to the Ministry of Health. This includes locating, sorting, classifying, and storing backup financial and procurement documentation for future reference. Ensure appropriate MoH project templates are used and updated. Align back-up is aligned to financial ledger. Anticipated summer deliverable is the completion of PH Stage 1 reconciliation; with progress made on Stage 2 reconciliation
• Migrate PH financial reports and files to Sharepoint
• Actively participate and provide support for decision-making processes by gathering accurate information and performing analysis upon it in a timely and efficient manner
• Other duties as assigned

Here\xe2\x80\x99s What You\xe2\x80\x99ll Need:

• Enrollment in post-secondary school program, related to business or accounting
• Strong interpersonal skills and commitment to working as part of a team
• Analytical and problem-solving skills, a strong persistent streak, along with self-motivation
• Strong disposition for order and data management, process simplification and improvement
• Highly computer literate and extremely proficient with the MS office suite, especially Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
• Knowledge of Sharepoint, PeopleSoft, Adaptive Insights, and/or PowerBI is considered an asset.
