We're excited to offer an opportunity for a Finance Specialist to join our Corporate Finance Team in Ottawa. In this role, you'll collaborate closely with a team of finance and accounting professionals on data clean-up initiatives, special projects, and process improvements across multiple entities--gaining valuable exposure to data analysis, financial operations, and full-cycle accounting. This is contract position for a 12 month period, with the possibility of extension.
Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform reconciliations and related accounting tasks to support the full-cycle accounting process, including journal entry preparation.
  • Conduct data clean-up, validation, and analytical reviews of financial information to ensure data integrity and identify process improvement opportunities.
  • Contribute to special projects involving process automation, financial reporting enhancements, and system improvements.
  • Help prepare financial reports and summaries for internal stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams on various finance-related tasks and deliverables.
  • Provide general support to the Corporate Finance team as needed.
Qualifications and Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent in relevant work experience. CPA designation or near competition is considered an asset.
  • Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills, with a team-oriented mindset.
