About the role

We\xe2\x80\x99re looking for a Finance & Operations Manager to join Intact Ventures!

Intact Ventures is a $600m AUM globally focused, early-stage venture capital fund backed by Intact Financial Corporation. We invest in world-class founders and fund managers in the areas of insurtech, fintech, proptech, mobility, and data & AI. Since inception in 2016, we have made over 30 investments across more than 5 countries and now have a portfolio that includes startups such as Turo, Acko, Resilience, Coterie, Pine, Collective and many more.

What you\xe2\x80\x99ll do here:

This role will manage all finance and operations function for Intact Ventures.

Financial Management

Lead the financial reporting function for Intact Ventures

Own the quarterly valuation process including developing valuation approaches, coordinating with internal accounting teams, and managing external audit activities

Fund Operations

Own the portfolio monitoring process including keeping track of and benchmarking results and metrics

Ensure the team is keeping up with industry best practices as it relates to venture fund operations

Serve as the point of contact with Intact Financial Corporation key functions including, Tax, Accounting, Finance, Investor Relations, Public Relations, Social Responsibility, etc.

Investment Support

Coordinate closing processes for new investments and liquidation events working closely with internal legal, tax, and treasury teams

Help review portfolio company financial statements, disclosures, and reports to provide insights and commentary

Support portfolio companies with projects and manage partnerships with startups and Intact

What you bring to the table:

Must Haves

Undergraduate degree: Business, Economics, Finance, Accounting, or Engineering is required

Minimum 3 years professional experience in accounting, finance, consulting, or operations type role

The ability to think innovatively to solve problems and improve processes

Proven track record working with fast paced and high-performance teams

Hyper attention to detail and strong organizational skills

Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to interact independently with senior executives

Highly proficient in in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)

Nice to Haves

Experience working in venture capital, private equity, or hedge fund operations

Experience working in a large organization

Accounting designation
