The Senior Finance and Operations Manager plays a critical leadership role in overseeing the financial health and operational efficiency of the bakery manufacturing facility. This role is responsible for managing the accounting department, overseeing inventory control on the production floor, and ensuring payroll is accurate and timely. The ideal candidate will possess strong financial acumen combined with hands-on operational oversight, supporting business goals through cross-functional collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
Finance & Accounting:
Lead the accounting team in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
Ensure compliance with financial regulations, tax filings, and audits.
Monitor cash flow and manage working capital.
Develop and maintain internal controls and financial policies.
Manage accounts payable, receivable, general ledger, and bank reconciliations.
Inventory & Operations Oversight:
Coordinate and supervise regular inventory counts on the production floor, ensuring accuracy and reconciliation with accounting records.
Collaborate with production and warehouse teams to ensure proper inventory management and reporting.
Analyze inventory levels, cost of goods sold (COGS), and production yield to support profitability.
Implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
Payroll & HR Liaison:
Oversee payroll processing in coordination with HR to ensure timely and accurate payment of wages.
Ensure compliance with labor laws, benefits reporting, and employee-related financial matters.
Monitor labor costs and recommend staffing or scheduling efficiencies.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA preferred.
Minimum 5-7 years of progressive experience in financial management, preferably in a manufacturing or food production environment.
Strong understanding of inventory systems and cost accounting.
Proficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or NetSuite) and Excel.
Excellent organizational, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to communicate effectively across departments and lead teams with a collaborative approach.
Work Environment:
Office-based with regular visits to the production floor.
Fast-paced manufacturing environment; ability to handle multiple priorities.
