This position will lead the financial operations of our Building Services and Controls division. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in overseeing all financial aspects of the division\'s activities, ensuring accurate reporting, strategic financial planning, and compliance with accounting standards.Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee all financial operations of the division.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor financial policies, procedures, and controls.
  • Provide financial guidance to senior management for strategic planning and business development initiatives, including collaborating on 5-year plan.
  • Prepare timely and accurate financial reports, including annual budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, month-end procedures, and KPI monitoring.
  • Manage cash flow and optimize working capital.
  • Working with operations, analyze financial data and provide insights to support decision-making, including performing costing/profitability assessment on a divisional and job by job basis.
  • Collaborate with department heads and project managers to create project budgets and monitor financial performance.
  • Support/mentor the A/P and A/R teams to ensure vendor invoices are processed on time for payment and collections are made in a timely manner.
  • Lead the preparation and submission of sales tax filings and compliance with applicable financial regulations.
  • Work closely with external auditors to facilitate annual audits.
Qualifications and Job Requirements:
  • 5+ years of financial management or Controllership experience.
  • Professional accounting designation preferred (CPA).
  • Experience in construction or mechanical contractor industry, preferably HVAC would be considered an asset
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Ability to lead and collaborate with cross-functional teams effectively.
  • Exceptional communication skills to present financial information to non-financial stakeholders clearly.
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities.
  • Team player with strong communication skills and work ethic.
  • Desire to continuously improve systems/processes with an open mind towards change.
