We are seeking a skilled and experienced
Finance Manager
to join our leadership team. This key role oversees the daily financial operations of NENAS, ensuring compliance, accuracy, and transparency in all aspects of budgeting, reporting, and financial planning. The Finance Manager plays a crucial role in supporting informed decision-making and ensuring the organization meets its financial goals.
Key Responsibilities
Provide expert financial guidance in alignment with approved policies, budgets, and standards
Ensure effective financial systems, internal controls, and regulatory compliance
Collaborate with program managers for budgeting and financial planning
Monitor and ensure compliance with funding agreements and legal obligations
Develop cash flow forecasts and ensure sufficient working capital
Prepare financial reports and documentation for Board meetings
Supervise and maintain accurate records of receipts and expenditures
Contribute to continuous improvement of financial systems and processes
Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll-related data
Support financial scheduling, tracking, and coordination of events
Perform additional duties as directed by the Executive Director or Human Resources
Qualifications and Experience
Post-secondary education in finance or accounting
Minimum 3 years' experience in a financial management role
CPA, CMA, CGA, CA, or CAFM designation and in good standing
Experience with Adagio accounting software is an asset
Strong skills in budgeting, forecasting, data analysis, and reporting
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and accounting systems
Clean Criminal Record Check
Valid Class 5 BC Driver's License
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of legislation and financial regulations applicable to non-profits
Understanding of not-for-profit budgeting and accounting practices
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proven leadership abilities with a client-focused and collaborative mindset
Strong organizational and time-management skills with attention to detail
Ability to work independently and demonstrate initiative, judgment, and diplomacy
High level of accuracy and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
