Job Title: Finance Manager (Construction and Development)

Our client, is part of a massive global construction and development company looking to create a footprint here in Canada. This is an exciting time to join a very successful global company in the Real Estate Development and Construction Industry!!!

The ideal candidate will have an entrepreneurial mindset and demonstrated experience within the construction and development industries. You MUST understand the stages of a construction development project from the ground to completion, specifically owning the banking relationships.

Responsibilities Include:

• Working with the Big banks and owning those relationships
• dealing with investment proformas and construction draws.
• Preparations and/or review of monthly project draws
• Cash flow analysis
• Hands on management of reporting for all related entities including project Joint-Ventures and Partnerships
• Assist as required reviewing and/or preparation of monthly, quarterly and year-end working papers including bank reconciliations, loan continuity schedules, interest tracking schedules for accuracy and integrity
• Assist in the creation of budgets, forecasts, and accounting policies and procedures.
• Manage the bookkeeper and monitor accounting activities

• CPA Designated Accountant
• A minimum of 10 years of experience within real estate, construction and/or property development
• Understanding of residential, commercial mixed-use developments
• Must understand the sequence of construction loans and be able to manage the draws and cash flow within a project
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Must be self-motivated with excellent interpersonal skills
• Will manage the banking relationships (experience working with the Big 5 banks is preferred)
• Having an entreprenerial mindset - you will be very hands on with an operational approach, yet have a strategic mindset and be able to see big picture.
