Duties:


  • Establishes individual daily objectives, measures, and performance targets aligned with the
annual objectives of the finance department.

  • Contribute to a positive work environment that fosters the success of a high performing team.

  • Provides leadership, work direction, training, coaching and feedback evaluating employee
performance and taking appropriate action as required.

  • Identifies finance organization training needs, researches and analyzes industry training best
practices to develop and deliver training curriculum.

  • Monitors, analyzes, and audits work for integrity, takes corrective action as needed and reports
progress to Manager.

  • Develops finance department performance metrics and shares results with operational
leadership.

  • Manages, responds to, and if appropriate escalates, all internal and external inquiries.

  • Drives employee accountability and responsibility in the areas of safety, environmental
compliance and job performance.

  • Keeps the finance department personnel abreast of BC Hydro\'s accounting systems and
operating agreements.

Qualifications:




  • University Degree.

  • Accounting/ Financial Designation (CA, CGA,CPA).

  • Six (6) to eight (8) years of experience in the field.

  • Strong knowledge and understanding of financial and operations processes of a large and
complex organization.

  • In-depth knowledge of accounting practices and principles and effective internal control concepts
and their effective application.

  • Excellent planning, organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong financial leadership, relationship management, team building, conflict management,
interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Previous experience with inventory processes as well as SAP Finance and Inventory modules
an asset.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
  • A condition of employment for this job is that you maintain the following requirements in good
standing:
Driver\'s License Type = Class 5.

  • This is a permanent Full-time Regular, Group 44 opportunity, headquartered in our Edmonds
office. Regular travel and visits to the Materials Management Surrey Office is required.

  • As part of the selection process, applicants may be required to take a written test/assessment.

Flexible work model role definitions

Our four role types identify the degree of flexibility an employee could have to work from home
based on the type of work they do. The flexibility for an individual job is up to the manager for
each position and the operational requirements. Employees also have the right to work full-time
from the office if they prefer. All of our roles require at least some in-person time.

IBEW/Field \xe2\x80\x93 No option to work from home
Resident \xe2\x80\x93 Works primarily (4+ days per week) in the office.
Hybrid \xe2\x80\x93 May be able to work from home up to 3 days per week.
Remote \xe2\x80\x93 Works from home 4+ days per week
