THE OPPORTUNITY

We have an exciting opportunity for a Finance Intern to join our team in Vancouver, BC on a 6 month contract.

What You'll Do: With the objective of Defining a Higher Standard, the Finance Intern is responsible for supporting accounting, reporting, internal control, procurement and other finance streams through a variety of tasks which will support the development and enhancement of the individual's financial and analytical skills.

Who You Are: This is a great opportunity for a 3rd or 4th-year university student, recent graduate or someone with 1-2 years of experience in finance or administration to enhance their financial and analytical skills. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented and has strong working knowledge of MS Office applications.

Work Environment: This position is to be performed in-person from our office in Vancouver, BC. All COVID-19 protocols are in place for the safety of our employees.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Analyze information in support of reporting cycle and investor relations;
  • Support continuous improvement of policies, processes and internal controls;
  • Perform reporting tie-out to supporting documents;
  • Roll forward reporting cycle documents;
  • Support the preparation of tax filings and analysis;
  • Prepare Statistics Canada reports; and
  • Other duties, including project work, as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS

Education And Experience
  • Currently enrolled in a college diploma or university degree in accounting, finance or related program (equivalent experiences will be considered);
  • Experience in financial and/or business services capacity;
  • 1-2 years of experience in a clerical/administrative function and/or experience in accounts payable would be considered an asset.
Skills, Knowledge And Required Competencies
  • Well-developed communication skills, both verbal and written;
  • High level or accuracy and an outstanding attention to detail;
  • A good working knowledge of MS Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Power Point, Word);
  • Detail focused and strong ability to multi-task with strong organizational skills;
  • Ability to work with tight deadlines and prioritize tasks;
  • Ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization, including building relationships with vendors and government agencies.
