Job Summary: A) To provide Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation (MCFN) and its departments with a complete set of computerized accounting records independently with accurate accounting and reporting of its financial position. B) To work with the Executive Director of Finance to improve the effectiveness of the Finance Department’s services by developing and maintaining effective controls and documentation that are consistent with established policies. C) To work with the Executive Director of Finance to provide accurate documentation to MCFN Council as required for long term financial strategies for the organization.

• QUALIFICATIONS
• Education and Experience
•  Possession of Bachelor degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Finance or related study
• area, with a minimum of 6 years’ relevant financial experience.
•  CPA designation is preferred and considered an asset
• Knowledge
•  A working knowledge of Municipal, Provincial and Federal legislation, policies and regulations
• that impact the First Nation
•  Working knowledge of the Canada Labour Code
•  Must have a solid background in computers with specific knowledge of accounting software and
• Microsoft Word and Excel
•  Knowledge and understanding of payroll, accounts receivable and accounts payable functions
• Skills/Abilities
•  Must be able to work independently overseeing millions of dollars in funds and the financial
• activities of multiple departments and programs;
•  Must be able to provide advice to the Executive Director of Finance and Council on financial
• strategy and financial arrangements and be able to manage and direct staff to carry out the
• financial duties of all departments;
•  Excellent knowledge of with Sage software
•  Most possess leadership and supervisory skills
•  Solid understanding of generally accepted accounting principles and knowledgeable of the
• functions within the accounts receivable, accounts payable and payroll functions.

•  Safe Food Handling Certificate or willingness to obtain.
