Finance Clerk - Accounts Receivable (Temporary to Permanent Opportunity)
Type: In-Office | Temporary to Permanent Role | West Edmonton
Salary (if permanent): $50,000 - $55,000 annually
Our client, a respected not-for-profit organization based in West Edmonton, is seeking a Finance Clerk (Accounts Receivable) to join their team on a temporary-to-permanent basis. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to meaningful community initiatives while supporting the organization's financial operations.
The Opportunity
This position is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who thrives in a collaborative, values-based environment. Reporting to the Director of Finance, you will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of accounts receivable processes for the organization. The role offers stability, variety, and the chance to contribute to a team making a difference in the community every day.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the full accounts receivable process, ensuring timely and accurate recording of all transactions.
  • Perform financial analyses and reconciliations, including deposits and other supporting financial records.
  • Prepare and maintain professional correspondence related to financial inquiries and transactions.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure clarity and accuracy in all financial matters.
  • Provide administrative and financial support to the Director of Housing, including project assistance as needed.
  • Complete regular bank reconciliations and ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures.
  • Serve as backup support for other receivable positions within the department to maintain operational continuity.
  • Participate in ongoing training and development to stay current with best practices in accounting and financial management.
Qualifications:
  • Completion of an accounting, payroll, or administrative certificate, with a minimum of 2-5 years of practical experience-or a combination of education and experience.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and office procedures.
  • Proficiency with Sage Intacct and intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly in Excel and Word.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
  • Collaborative and adaptable approach, capable of working both independently and within a team.
  • A deep understanding of Indigenous people, their culture, traditions, and values-or a willingness to learn and engage respectfully.
