Job Description


The primary purpose of the Finance Associate is to assist in the day to day business functions of the Finance department, and provide support in a number of key tasks on a recurring basis. The Finance Associate will join an experienced, friendly and helpful team and will support maintaining and sharing it\'s excellent reputation for diligence. The Finance Associate will also duly help to improve analytical standards where possible for transactional process and reporting to best match our client\'s operating divisional structures. A key aspect of the role is the determination of costs. The Finance Associate will furthermore be responsible for correct application of those costs to individual sales.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Costing preparing preliminary cost estimates for all products, daily and weekly review, be the Company\'s costing champion.
  • Sales analysis to determine correct cost capture at invoice line level.
  • Be able to critically justify the costs of products based on landed cost calculations.
  • Reconciliations help to reconcile the General Ledger for in particular, mostly in the critical area of inventory against count records, for Shipped Not Invoiced, Returned Not Credited, Received Not Invoiced etc.
  • Supplier rebates track and apply key Supplier rebates each month to ensure these are properly recorded, claimed and accounted for.
  • Ownership of taxable benefits to ensure correct representation on employee\'s annual T4 slips.
  • Analysis of dimensions of journal posting to ensure costs are correctly classified by division / cost center.
  • lntercompany transactions and balances ensure adequate supporting documentation is kept and eliminations are made.
  • Analysis of company expense accounts to ensure compliance with Company policy.
  • Customer commissions track and apply commissions each month to ensure these are properly recorded, claimed and accounted for.
  • Weekly sales reporting prepare weekly sales reports and distribute to management.
  • Monthly sales report preparation for specific customers/suppliers.
  • Annual audit help provide schedules and documentation as required, communicate with auditors. Coordinate inventory counts for external warehouses.
  • Budget and forecasting actively involved in the budget and forecast preparation and comparison of results thereto.
  • Credit references including help to fulfil requests and developing automated report standard.
  • Excellent Mathematics & English Language skills are essential.
  • Desire to pursue a career in accounting, ambition to attain designation.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in the use of MS Excel and Word, including ability to create and modify spreadsheets and reports with knowledge of simple and complex formulae.
  • Enthusiastic and willing to attempt new tasks without being intimidated.
  • Organized and able to manage a multitude of tasks.
Confident phone manner and general demeanor.
