RealTerm Energy is looking for a full-time Finance & Accounting Manager to join our dynamic team in Montreal. We are looking for a detailed oriented Finance & Accounting Manager with a strong background in accounting procedures to be responsible for maintaining accounting system, financial reports and general ledger. The right candidate must have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work cooperatively within the company structure and have a high degree of attention to detail. You will report to the Chief Operating Officer. Responsibilities:
  • Set accounting and financial guidelines for the company.
  • Implement strategies for meeting budget goals.
  • Make financial forecasts and projections.
  • Determine payroll needs and determine appropriate staffing levels.
  • Perform cost-benefit analysis and risk management to ensure that new systems will be beneficial to the company.
  • Train employees on all accounting and finance related software and systems.
Accounts Receivables:
  • Prepare billing invoices (standard and ad-hoc) and enter charges in accounting software
  • Responsible for monitoring aging reports and following up on outstanding payments
  • Record deposits
  • File different types of batch entries in accounting software and Salesforce accordingly
Accounts Payables:
  • Process AP invoices (AP data validation & accounting GL entries)
  • Review employee expense reports in Concur Software
  • Process credit card expenses
  • Prepare Bi-weekly check run
  • Reconcile vendor statements
Weekly US and Canadian Payroll support:
  • Draft weekly payroll based on payroll period activity
  • Prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual submissions (RRSP and 401K)
  • Set up new employees (payroll system and benefits)
  • Calculate employee and employer contributions and deductions
  • Other payroll-related tasks as required
Cash Flow Management:
  • Ensure proper cash reserves are maintained utilizing the line of credit
  • Produce weekly Cash Flow Report
  • Involvement in the collections process for delinquent accounts or breach of contract
Treasury Management:
  • Maintain banking relationships
  • Banking authority including bank account setup, user entitlement setup, and maintenance
  • Payment signing authority including check signing and electronic payment release
  • Banking services add-ons including management of corporate credit card program
  • Liaise with Bank Account Managers in the US and Canada to resolve issues
Taxation. Deal with all corporate taxation matters including but not limited to:
  • Review corporate tax returns for all entities (Canadian & US)
  • Review of all year-end filings including payroll iling
  • On-going tax planning
  • Provide support on year-end audit and year-end tax filing (T4A, 1099, etc.)
  • Set up all State (including new states) sales tax accounts & prepare all US Sales Tax filings
  • Prepare all State Resale and Exemption Certificates
  • Primary contact for all government audit-related matters
Expense Reports/Concur:
  • Approve & release all employee expense claim payments
Review, Approval, and Release of Financial Reports:
  • To internal Users/Readers including Ownership and Sr Management Team
  • To external/creditors including banking covenant requirements
Annual Budgets:
  • Manage the preparation of the annual Financial Budget
  • Preparation of Annual Salary Budget
Annual Audit:
  • Maintain and manage the relationship with Audit Manager and Audit Partner
  • Deal with all GAAP-related matters
  • Approval of annual audited statements
  • Negotiate audit fees and overages
Software Database maintenance:
  • Update project budgets in accounting software by following individual contracts docs, including change orders
Perform other tasks as assigned by management. Job Type: Full-time Salary: $65,000.00-$75,000.00 per year Benefits:
