Under the responsibility of the Associate Director of Finance of the Lady-Davis Institute
MAIN TASKS
Reconcile payments received from various research sponsors via wire transfer or cheque
Gather and verify supporting documents and related payment details
Communicate with payment sponsors and internal stakeholders to resolve payment inquiries
Post deposits to accounting ledgers
Organize and maintain journal entries and supporting documentation
Maintain and update in-house database for received payments and deposit transactions
Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities
Assist with reimbursement requests processing
Collaborate with Financial officers and other departments as needed
JOB QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
College (DEC) studies in accounting or administrative field preferred.
High level of accuracy and strong attention to detail
Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
Strong problem-solving abilities
Team-oriented with a collaborative mindset
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data management
Ability to work independently, able to take initiative
Bilingual: French and English.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
Candidate must be able to work legally in Canada (Canadian citizens or permanent resident, or work permit holder).
SALARY AND BENEFITS
(According to LDI HR policy)
Salary scale between $22.99/hour and $30.66/hour (assessed by LDI HR)
: 1.667 days per month (if full time hours worked). Vacation computation is based on 12 months from May 1st to April 30th (to be used the following reference year).
: 9.6 days per year. Sick day's computation is based on 12 months from December 1st to November 30th. Effective after 3 months of employment, not transferable, payable if not taken. Please note that 3 of those 9.6 days can be taken for personal reasons. (Full-Time employees only)
13 days per year following the Jewish General Hospital - Statutory Holidays schedule. (Full-Time employees only)
: Admissible to group plan after 3 months of employment. Your department will cover 50% of the cost associated with the Health and Dental coverage. Additionally, LDI employees contributing to the LDI Blue Cross Health and Dental Insurance Plan and their dependents (for families and single parents) are eligible for an additional taxable benefit called the LDI Health Supplementary Fund (referred to as the Health Spending Account (HSA) at Blue Cross). Under this program, employees get an allocated amount between $250 and $500 per year depending on their insurance coverage (single, single parent, family) that can be used for health costs not covered under our group insurance plan or the provincial health plan
