The Shearwater Children's Centre (SCC) is a provincially licensed child care centre. Under the supervision of the SCC Director, the Finance Administrator is responsible for the administration of payroll and bookkeeping, as well as general administrative support and office-related tasks.
This position offers a flexible work schedule, with a combination of onsite and remote work. Must be available to work on Monday mornings and some Tuesdays and/or Fridays.
The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate the following:
Organized, with a high attention to administrative detail and documentation.
Self-directed and able to work independently to achieve outcomes.
Ability to create and edit Excel spreadsheets.
Strong collaboration, teamwork and relationship-building skills.
Ability to problem solve and resolve conflicts to satisfactory results.
Ability to follow and adhere to H&R MFRC financial standard operating procedures and the NS Canada-Wide Agreement grant and funding terms of reference.
Qualifications
Post-secondary education or equivalent experience in bookkeeping.
Experience with payroll processing and submission.
Proficiency in English is required
Proficient in Microsoft 365 and data entry (emphasis on MS TEAMS and Excel).
