Field Service Technician - Wide Format Print - Montreal (Bilingual)

Position Summary

The Electronics and Wide Format Service Technician will be responsible for the diagnosis and repair of various geospatial measurement equipment as it pertains to survey, mapping, construction, and related construction equipment as well as Wide Format printers.



In this role, you will...




Communicate with customers within our 2 business-hour Service Level Agreement. Collaborate with Sales to coordinate and schedule equipment deliveries for installations. Coordinate with parts team to order necessary parts for maintenance or break-fix repairs. Drive to customers' locations to perform break-fix repairs, Preventive Maintenance or installations. Champion the Customer Experience: Guide customers through installation and onboarding of wide format print equipment ensuring a smooth transition. Resolve with Impact: Address technical challenges promptly and professionally, escalating complex issues as needed. Lead Onsite Support: Provide hands-on assistance for break-fix issues, and manage escalations related to wide format printing equipment. Proactively Prevent Issues: Use monitoring tools and data insights to anticipate problems and enhance service outcomes for customers. Drive Technical Excellence: Apply technical knowledge of wide format print technology to resolve advanced issues. Mentor & Collaborate: Support team development, coordinate departmental efforts, and foster strong cross-functional relationships. Improve Continuously: Identify process gaps, recommend enhancements, and ensure compliance with business controls and safety standards. Install & Educate: Set up new wide format print equipment at customer sites and provide hands-on training to ensure users are confident and capable in operating their systems. Embrace Teamwork: Thrive in a team-oriented environment where collaboration, communication, and a shared mindset are essential to success. Apply Technical Expertise: Leverage your background in electrical systems, hardware installation, and troubleshooting to resolve complex technical issues and ensure optimal equipment performance. Occasional overnight trips. Stay up to date with online training. Travel to the US for training at the manufacturer.



About You





We are looking for an energetic, highly motivated individual able to work in a team environment and is willing to take on and learn new machine maintenance. Specific machine training will be provided.

What You Bring

Education & Experience:




High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience. Valid drivers license. Experience in customer support, field service, or technical roles--preferably with wide format printing equipment or enterprise printing systems. Valid passport or VISA to enable travel to the United States for training purposes. Must be bilingual to support our Quebec customers.



Technical Skills




Strong knowledge of electronics, electromechanics, commissioning, preventive maintenance, and technical support. Familiarity with automation tools, test equipment, operating systems, and field service management platforms.



Soft Skills




Effective communicator with a customer-first mindset. Results-driven, agile learner, and digitally fluent. Strong problem-solving and mentoring abilities.
