The Ridge Meadows Child Development Centre (RMCDC) is a community-based agency providing early intervention services to children and families in the communities of Maple Ridge, Pitt Meadows, and Katzie. We are currently seeking a temporary part-time 0.6 FTE (22.5 hrs/week) Family Resource Worker for our Enhanced Early Intervention Program (EEIP). The EEIP is part of the Pathway to Hope initiative. It aims to enhance family support services and child-parent attachment services for families who have children aged 0-6 that are at risk of developing a mental health diagnosis and already require two or more early intervention services in the community. The EEIP works in a collaborative relationship with families and existing service providers and seeks to accommodate families' already existing services and schedules. The core EEIP team includes Family Support Services, Infant Development and Aboriginal Infant Development Enhancement Services, Family Resource/Intervention Services, and Infant Mental Health Services. We provide service in a variety of environments, allowing staff to meet families where they are most comfortable, including in the community, at family homes, or at the Centre. Responsibilities

:

Reporting to the supervising Family Support Worker, the Family Resource worker is responsible for

Booking and attending home visits

Engaging families in positive interactions that enhance bonding/attachment and facilitate children's learning and development and overall family functioning

Supporting the family in the area of parenting skill building

Implementing interventions as well as assisting families to implement interventions developed by clinical members of the child's multidisciplinary team (such as OT, PT, and SLP)

Preparing materials to support children's therapeutic programs and monitoring the families' connection to early intervention therapists

Attending appointments with families to support and assist caregivers

Assisting families in accessing and making use of community-based services

Participating, as part of each families' team, in the development of individual service plans and assisting in monitoring progress towards family-identified goals

Managing a caseload and maintaining client files

Working independently as well as collaborating with a team of community professionals and RMCDC staff

QUALIFICATIONS



Education, Training, and Experience



Diploma in education, social work, or other human service field with at least one years' experience in family and children's services

OR



Child and Youth diploma or other related degree with at least three years' experience in family and children services

OR



An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience to the above

AND



Experience working with young children with a variety of disabilities and their families
Experience working with Indigenous children and families

Cultural safety training and understanding of trauma-informed practice

Knowledge of child development, parenting, family systems, family violence, cross-cultural issues, and community resources.

Valid BC driver's license (Class V) and vehicle Clear criminal record check

Salary and Benefits:

Salary range as per HSA Community Subsector Collective Agreement, according to qualifications and experience.
