Community Resource Worker 1 (CRW1) - Community-based Respite Services
Evenings and/or Weekend Hours
The Ability Resource Association is recruiting enthusiastic and dedicated individuals to join our team as Casual or Part-time CRW1 Respite Staff. In this role, you will provide essential support to individuals with disabilities, helping them to achieve their personal goals and enhance their quality of life.

CRW1 for Community-based Respite responsibilities:
• Provide transportation to/from the person's home and to/from community activities
• Provide engaging and interesting activities for people with disabilities while ensuring safety and well-being.
• Support people with disabilities to meet their individual goals and needs, including community recreation and leisure activities, health and wellness activities, daily living activities, personal care, medication management, etc.
• Communicate positively and effectively and follow the direction and guidance of the person in service, their family/guardian, and your supervisor.
• Complete required documentation.
• Maintain professional conduct and abide by the organization's Health and Safety program and all policies and procedures.
CRW1 for Respite Services requirements:
• Must be on time and reliable for scheduled shifts.
• Must have a reliable and safe vehicle to transport people in services.
• Must provide proof of:
o Valid driver's license
o A recently obtained three-year driver's abstract, car registration for any vehicle registered to yourself, or a spouse, that you may be driving for work.
o Personal insurance coverages: $2 million liability and SEF 44 endorsement (Family Protection Endorsement).
• Previous experience working with individuals with disabilities is preferred.
• Strong interpersonal communication, conflict management, organization and time management skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Flexible and adaptable to meet the varying needs of people in services.
• Current First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
• Have a cell phone and be willing to use it for communication regarding respite services on each scheduled shift.
•Successful candidates must provide a Police Information Check including the Vulnerable Sector Check. •
