Your role on our team: The Financial Analyst is responsible for the coordination, preparation, and analysis of project reporting and other financial reports for a portfolio of development projects.
In this role, you will:

  • Compiles information and prepares financial modeling to assist in the timely completion of monthly and quarterly management reporting for internal purposes and to meet reporting obligations to partners and lenders.
  • Compiles detailed information about existing agreements for sold housing units and proposed selling prices for unsold units to support revenue forecasting.
  • Prepares monthly reports of actual costs for land development budgets, vertical construction costs and sales and marketing expenditures. Reports provide detailed analysis of any variances between actual and planned results.
  • Assists in the preparation and calculation of annual land and servicing cost allocations for each community.
  • Ensures all project pro-forma information, forecasts, and cash flow projections are prepared accurately and updated monthly for review and are accompanied by variance reports detailing the changes to project.
  • Prepares quarterly slide deck presentations for the board of directors with actual and forecasted financial projections.
  • Participate in the annual budgeting process.
  • Coordinate with the various business groups to prepare workflows and document business processes.
  • Other duties within the scope, spirit, and purpose of the job, as requested by management.
We would like you to have:
  • Enrolled in post-secondary education (college or university) with a concentration in finance and/or accounting.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and research skills.
  • Ability to effectively multitask and work under pressure.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Desire to learn.
  • System implementation and process documentation experience is considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of the real estate/development industry is considered an asset.
