Western Community College is a privately held provider of post-secondary education in British Columbia, offering a Bachelor of Hospitality Management degree program and more than 65 career training diploma and certificate programs in the fields of business, accounting, healthcare, education, hospitality, information technology, legal studies, and warehousing, using industry-based market-driven curriculums. POSITION SUMMARY:

We are seeking a motivated and experienced professional to serve as Faculty and Potential Program Chair for the BHM program. This position is ideal for candidates with a combination of teaching expertise and academic leadership experience.

Key Responsibilities:

As Faculty (Primary)

Teach BHM courses and facilitate student learning in classroom and experiential settings Provide academic support and mentorship to students Participate in program- and college-level committees and initiatives.
As Program Chair (Optional / Future Role):

Lead the Curriculum Committee and support curriculum design and delivery Ensure program quality and alignment with industry standards Mentor and support faculty development and professional growth Address student and faculty issues in collaboration with senior leadership Collaborate with industry partners, advisory boards, and other stakeholders Participate in accreditation, program review, and continuous quality improvement Report on program outcomes and initiatives to the VPA

Qualifications:

Master's degree in Hospitality Management or a closely related field (PhD preferred) Minimum 5+ years of relevant academic and/or industry experience Strong teaching skills with evidence of student-focused instructional experience Minimum 1-2 years of leadership and administrative experience Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
Salary will depend on experience.

Pay: $80,000.00-$85,000.00 per year
