This full time position exists to support the mission of Prairie \xe2\x80\x9cto establish God\xe2\x80\x99s kingdom by equipping and mentoring individuals through biblically integrated education for life and careers that will meet the greatest needs of the world\xe2\x80\x9d. This specific role is to provide excellent and relevant teaching in New Testament studies, along with a preference for a secondary teaching competence in Christian spiritual formation (though persons equipped in other disciplines are welcome to make application). The position will most likely include leadership and administrative responsibilities as a program director. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
\xef\x82\xb7 Teach a full-time faculty load of twenty-four credit hours each academic year, with the primary
instructional area in New Testament (Program Director responsibilities are given the equivalent of three credit hours in the faculty load and a seat on the Academic Council).
\xef\x82\xb7 Participate in faculty meetings and responsibilities.
\xef\x82\xb7 Participate in designated areas of co-curricular life as mutually agreed on with the Academic Dean.
\xef\x82\xb7 Serve as a program coordinator for an academic program; providing primary leadership in the development of philosophy, rationale, and curriculum.
\xef\x82\xb7 Mentor and disciple students, particularly in the program you coordinate.
\xef\x82\xb7 Advise students in program and assist them in finding career futures.
\xef\x82\xb7 Oversight and guidance of program students in internships/practicums. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
\xef\x82\xb7 Excellent teaching skills in a post-secondary classroom setting.
\xef\x82\xb7 Enthusiastic commitment to Prairie\xe2\x80\x99s commitment and approach to teaching the whole Bible.
\xef\x82\xb7 Passionate about preparing college students enrolled in a broad span of biblical, ministry and vocational programs for ministry and work.
\xef\x82\xb7 Committed to the spiritual formation and Christian practice of students.
\xef\x82\xb7 Actively committed to scholarly work and growth.
\xef\x82\xb7 Understanding of academic rigor appropriate to post-secondary education.
\xef\x82\xb7 Broad and deep knowledge of the academic discipline of New Testament.
\xef\x82\xb7 Preference given to applicants with competency in the secondary area of Christian spiritual formation, although those with competency in other disciplines are welcome to apply.
\xef\x82\xb7 Experience in Christian post-secondary education.
\xef\x82\xb7 Ability and skill to relate well to college-age students. QUALIFICATIONS
\xef\x82\xb7 Mission: Knowledge of and commitment to Prairie\xe2\x80\x99s mission, vision, core values, statement of faith, and Community Covenant.
\xef\x82\xb7 Church: Understanding of and commitment to the local church.
\xef\x82\xb7 Gifting/Calling: Primary vocation is teaching. Evident love for teaching the New Testament. Senses a calling to fulfill this vocation at Prairie.
\xef\x82\xb7 Education: A minimum level of a graduate degree in New Testament. (PhD preferred)
\xef\x82\xb7 Experience: Two or more years of successful post-secondary teaching experience preferred.
\xef\x82\xb7 Ministry: Significant experience in ministry leadership.
\xef\x82\xb7 English Language: Excellent knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including composition and grammar.
\xef\x82\xb7 Team attitude: Must have the ability to work in and contribute to a team. In accordance with the standards of the government, preference given to qualified applicants who hold Canadian citizenship or are a permanent resident of Canada.
