Duties & Responsibilities
The successful applicant will be an enthusiastic, team-oriented professional with broad, practical knowledge within the Digital Entertainment and Interactive industry. We are seeking an individual who is committed to quality and innovation in meeting our students' needs and who values the importance of teamwork in the workplace. The successful applicant can expect to be assigned the Lighting and Rendering 2 course within our 3DMAA program focused on Animation and Gaming and must have a strong commitment to teaching and interacting with students, an ability to communicate clearly and effectively, and interest in developing and delivering quality curriculum, for an industry that's fast changing.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS
:
Diploma or degree in Animation, 3D Art, Digital Media, Visual Effects, or a closely related discipline; or an equivalent combination of education and industry experience.
Minimum five years of professional experience in 3D production with a focus on lighting, shading, rendering, scene optimization, and compositing.
Senior-level or higher role experience within the 3D/visual-effects industry demonstrating leadership or technical mentorship.
Strong technical proficiency with industry-standard 3d tools and workflows.
Advanced Proficiency in Nuke, including 3D compositing, color grading, and integrating live-action with CG elements.
Ability to troubleshoot lighting/rendering issues (e.g., noise, sampling, GI, passes, optimization).
Ability to teach advanced lighting/rendering concepts such as: camera setup and effects, shaders, render passes and compositing, and industry standard presentation methods.
Experience optimizing scenes for rendering and lighting for film and animation.
Experience with asset presentation, camera moves, framing and sequencing for final portfolio pieces.
Familiarity with current industry trends in lighting/rendering
Demonstrated success in 3D production pipelines and current industry practices.
Minimum five years of post-secondary teaching experience, including course design, delivery, and student assessment in art or animation-related subjects.
Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills with a focus on mentoring and motivating students.
Flexible, creative, and collaborative teaching approach, capable of delivering engaging, hands-on, and experiential learning sessions.

Salary Range: $65,045 - $113,545 per annum.
Additional Salary Information
