Your Opportunity:
The Facilities Management and Space Planning office manages a complex set of facilities for theTemerty Faculty of Medicine, on campus and off - and is responsible for consultation, planning,design and implementation of sophisticated, complicated projects for highly specialized researchand academic needs.
As Facilities Planner, you will collaborate with our team of architects, planners and operationsspecialists and work in close partnership with our University counterparts in Project Development,Facilities and Services and Project Management to independently manage projects, conductresearch related to physical planning, and provide specialized guidance to our departments andcolleagues. Your exceptional customer service skills, design acumen and creative thinking will enable you to realize complex projects and help us fulfill time-sensitive goals and objectives.
Essential Qualifications:
A licensed professional architect or engineer
Minimum seven years' applicable experience in the field of design and construction
Experience managing construction projects of varying complexity and involving statistical and facilities analysis
Advanced proficiency with CAD software for plans and 3-D drawings, and spreadsheets/analytical software
Excellent written (including report writing) and oral communication skills
Strong interpersonal, organizational, analytical and numerical skills
Proven ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders
Ability to effectively manage expectations and negotiate regarding project requirements and/or changes
Demonstrated initiative, ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, meet established deadlines, and achieve results in a highly complex environment
High level of accuracy required while working under pressure
Sound judgment, tact, patience, and sensitivity to the diverse needs of client
Assets (Nonessential):
Project management training and/or certification
