Position Overview:



Within the Facilities team, the Facilities Maintenance Lead Hand will oversee the daily operation and preventative maintenance of all elements of our buildings, grounds and equipment (excluding production lines) as well as environmental initiatives to remain in compliance with Musashi's Environmental Management System (EMS) and ISO 14001. The incumbent coordinates repairs, ensures safety measures are followed, and supervises the daily activities and projects of a facilities maintenance team. This includes prioritizing and managing multiple projects to meet deadlines, as well as coordinating and scheduling repairs and maintenance with outside contractors.

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and experience:

5+ years of experience in coordination and maintenance of building infrastructure in a manufacturing environment (preferred). Certificate in Facilities Management, Environmental Management or related formal education (preferred), or equivalent experience. 3+ years in a leadership or supervisory role. 3+ years of experience managing multiple projects. Experience in property management, fire safety planning, water treatment and environmental building services is considered an asset. Skilled in the use of a wide variety of hand tools and power tools. Knowledge of plumbing, electrical and building codes and regulations is considered an asset. Familiarity with environmental standards and a willingness to learn and maintain a compliant Environmental Management System. Able to operate forklift and aerial lifts and handle Transportation of Dangerous Goods requirements. Proficient with computers, Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and able to quickly adapt to new systems.

Job Responsibilities:

80% Facilities Maintenance:



Lead and direct the daily activities and planned projects and assign tasks to the Facilities Associates. Supervise and work closely with contractors to ensure services are being done according to agreed terms and conditions and follow up on any issues as needed. Lead the coordination on various projects, including building expansions and renovations, new equipment arrivals, onboarding new contractors, and other related facilities matters. Maintain company-owned real estate properties & dwellings, including repairs, maintenance, and coordination with Human Resources and contractors Requisition of necessary materials and supplies through the procurement system. Provide support to the Waterloo facility as needed. Oversee Facilities team performance and provide coaching and counselling under the review of the reporting team lead and/or manager. Track and maintain the Facilities business plan and KPIs results. Prepare and present written and verbal reports. Participate in the Joint Health and Safety Committee and serve as a member of the Emergency Response Team.

20% Environmental Activities:



Retain ISO 14001 certification through understanding and compliance with the standards. Lead and coordinate the environmental activities, including water treatment, recycling program, pond sampling, aspect awareness, internal and external parties, etc., to ensure Environmental Management System (EMS) compliance, objectives and initiatives are met. Submit monthly environmental reports to parent company. Maintain environmental customer portals and liaison with the appropriate departments to meet the required reporting requirements and deadlines. Plan, prepare and complete annual audits, including internal, external and surveillance audits, with third party regulatory bodies and consultants. Record and track all activities and documentation in an organized manner. Prepare and present written and verbal reports. Participate in the Annual Earth Day and other events.
