We are looking to add a Facilities & Fleet Attendant to our team within the Astro Towing division. Astro Towing has proudly been serving Saskatchewan for over 45 years, providing emergency roadside service, towing, accident and abandoned vehicle recovery, and hauling services to our community and partners. Our fleet operates a variety of equipment ranging from battery vans and light duty tow trucks to heavy wreckers and tractor-trailer units. We pride ourselves on being able to take on any job \xe2\x80\x93 big, small or complicated, delivering excellent customer service, operating safely and efficiently, and employing passionate professionals to meet the needs of our customers. The Facilities & Fleet Attendant is responsible for helping with building, compound, yard, and vehicle maintenance; working predominantly outdoors (regardless of the weather); providing various roadside assistance services; and helping colleagues wherever they can provide assistance. The ideal candidate has skid steer operating experience, is comfortable with basic vehicle maintenance such as boosting vehicles and air deliveries, enjoys interacting with people, communicates clearly, and loves working outdoors. A Class 1A drivers license would be considered an asset. What you\xe2\x80\x99ll be doing
Provide general yard and compound maintenance and support such as:
Collect and discard garbage and miscellaneous broken car parts
Weed control
Ensure laneways are clear and vehicles are orderly and accessible
Move, reorganize, and relocate vehicles as necessary
Collect unused and abandoned blocks throughout compound and return to storage
Collect spill trays (berms), properly empty contents, wash, and return to storage
Assist with lockouts, boosting batteries, and filling tires with air for vehicles in the compound as needed
Prepare for next day\xe2\x80\x99s tow-thrus and ensure all vehicles are accessible
Assist with escorting customers through the compound to access or pick up their vehicles when required
Provide general shop maintenance and support such as:
Provide general shop maintenance such as sweeping, picking up debris, and emptying garbage cans
Maintain, order, and restock shop supplies as needed and requested
Assist with picking up parts for mechanics as needed
Assist with inventory counts
Maintain the secure bay and communicate with compound staff to ensure vehicles are removed in a timely manner
Maintain the wash bay, including ensuring adequate supplies are available
Provide general fleet maintenance such as:
Maintain the Emergency Response Trailer and ensure supplies are fully stocked and organized, and replenished as needed
Ensure the dump trailer is emptied after use and ready to be used again
Assist with cleaning and detailing various company vehicles
Provide general building maintenance such as:
Replace burnt out light bulbs
Correspond with repair technicians for building maintenance
Provide general snow maintenance during winter months such as:
Clear snow from parking lots, sidewalks, and compound rows both manually and with a skid steer
Organizing and arranging for snow pile removal
Provide roadside assistance support when needed, such as boosting batteries, replacing batteries, filling tires with air, changing tires, and performing lockouts
Provide traffic control services when needed
Ensure proper utilization and maintenance of company equipment
Attend meetings and training as requested for job and safety information
Help with other duties as assigned
What you\xe2\x80\x99ll need to bring
Must hold and maintain a minimum Saskatchewan Class 5 driver\xe2\x80\x99s license; a Class 1A is preferred
Ability to perform physical duties including lifting, bending, climbing, and kneeling
Friendly attitude with a strong focus on customer service
Mechanical aptitude with an understanding of basic vehicle maintenance such as boosting vehicles and air deliveries
Experience with operating a skid steer is required
Neat and tidy in appearance
Self-starter mindset and ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Team-oriented attitude, desire to support others, and a willingness to \xe2\x80\x9cget stuff done\xe2\x80\x9d and keep busy
Commitment to environmental compliance and safe work practices
As this is a safety-sensitive position, clear pre-employment and ongoing random drug (including marijuana) and alcohol testing
