Position Overview
We are seeking a
highly experienced Fabricator Welder/Fitter
with a strong background in sheet metal fabrication. The ideal candidate has extensive hands-on experience, exceptional blueprint interpretation abilities, advanced MIG/TIG welding skills, and the capability to design and build jigs and fixtures. Experience operating a
manual rolling machine
is required.
This role requires someone who ensures
100% quality
, works efficiently in a fast-paced environment, and can independently fabricate and fit components according to engineering drawings and welding symbols.
Key Responsibilities
Read and interpret
engineering drawings, GD&T, and weld symbols
with high accuracy
Fit, assemble, and weld
sheet metal components and assemblies
Perform
MIG and TIG welding
on mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminum
Operate
manual rolling machines
for rolling sheet metal to required diameters and shapes
Build, design, and use
jigs and fixtures
for repeatable and precise production
Ensure welds meet quality requirements for
flatness, perpendicularity, alignment, and structural integrity
Use fabrication tools such as shear, brake, rollers, grinders, saws, and hand tools
Inspect completed parts to verify dimensional accuracy and weld quality
Work collaboratively with production but capable of completing jobs independently
Maintain safety standards and a clean, organized workstation
Requirements / Qualifications
High School Diploma
required
Diploma in Welding Technician, Metal Fabrication Technician, Mechanical Technician, or related trade
(preferred)
Additional welding certifications (CWB, MIG/TIG) are strong assets
5+ years of experience
in sheet metal fabrication, fitting, and welding
Strong proficiency in
MIG & TIG welding
Demonstrated ability to interpret
engineering drawings, GD&T, and weld symbols
Hands-on experience operating
manual rolling machines
Proven capability to
design and fabricate jigs and fixtures
Strong understanding of tolerances, weld distortion control, and fabrication sequencing
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment
Excellent fitting, measuring, and fabrication skills
High attention to detail and commitment to
top-quality craftsmanship
Good problem-solving skills for shop-floor fabrication challenges
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00-$30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 44 per week
