Job Summary

The role of Expert, Enterprise Architect Observability and Platforms is to align technology strategy and expenditure with business priorities and objectives. The Enterprise Architect is responsible for translating business strategy into a fit for purpose business and technology architecture that ensures stable, reliable, resilient, and efficient service delivery that meet customer needs and enable innovation. Further, the Enterprise Architect defines and drives best-in-class Enterprise Architecture principles including a common service-oriented architecture, consistent technical frameworks and guidance, and a loosely coupled agile architecture across the organization.

Main Responsibilities

\xc2\xb7 Responsible for enterprise architecture strategies for on-premises and public cloud environments.

\xc2\xb7 Drive modern observability platform that covers Cloud-native and hybrid applications, cloud and on-premises infrastructure, network, platforms

\xc2\xb7 Establish unified telemetry and logging capabilities for developers and support teams

\xc2\xb7 Incorporate observability best practices into service management framework

\xc2\xb7 Develop reference and target architectures, standards, guidelines, capabilities, and models

\xc2\xb7 Identify and resolve gaps between business requirements and enterprise architecture

\xc2\xb7 Interact with product managers to understand domain challenges and to develop the domain-specific architecture and technology roadmaps and product evolution

\xc2\xb7 Work with peer architects, produce and maintain appropriate relationships between business, information, application, technology, and solution architects to build consistent and customer centric architecture per capability

\xc2\xb7 Put in place best-in-class architecture processes for designing large scale and sophisticated technology systems across cloud and on-premises environments

\xc2\xb7 Stay current on major disruptive technology and non-technology trends that affect the Business

\xc2\xb7 Provide recommendations on technology, product, and capability selections to CN

\xc2\xb7 Work with peer architects, providing guidance on a comprehensive governance model to ensure solutions are developed according to the developed enterprise architecture

\xc2\xb7 Document the existing technology portfolio and propose recommendations for improvements and / or alternatives

\xc2\xb7 Create, support, and influence pragmatic architectural oversight, using principles, policies, and guardrails

\xc2\xb7 Collaborate with System Architecture in shaping, scoping, defining, planning, and reviewing solutions

\xc2\xb7 Provide direction to and align specialized architects in project engagements, ensuring proposed solutions meets business needs and are aligned with (or properly exempted from) corporate standards

\xc2\xb7 Manage architectural risk mitigations, issue escalation, and resolution processes

\xc2\xb7 Support Observability & Platforms Solution architects

\xc2\xb7 Create positions and patterns for repeatable usable architecture

REQUIREMENTS

\xc2\xb7 Bachelor\'s degree or more in computer science or related discipline.

\xc2\xb7 10+ years\' experience in IT

\xc2\xb7 5+ years in similar role

\xc2\xb7 Strong ability to bring complex concepts to actionable architecture deliverables

\xc2\xb7 Strong ability at taking hard decisions by understanding and explaining trade-offs between business enablement and economics impacts

\xc2\xb7 The role requires people skills to influence and orient business and technical audience toward a common goal that is satisfying all stakeholders

\xc2\xb7 Ability to balance requirements and concerns from different stakeholders (business, finance, IT, etc.) and make efficient judgement calls, providing clear rationale for decisions

\xc2\xb7 Ability to deliver mandate with great autonomy - self-driven, at the same time knowing when to reach out and how to provide adequate visibility

\xc2\xb7 Ability to efficiently communicate with people of varying seniority and backgrounds

\xc2\xb7 Capacity to engage on multiple concurrent initiatives efficiently

\xc2\xb7 Curious and interested in acquiring knowledge over multiple new architecture concepts, business domains and technologies

\xc2\xb7 Capacity to perform with little or no prior knowledge of a project context, domain, or technologies

\xc2\xb7 Experience with numerous architectural fields: application, information, technology, security, etc.

\xc2\xb7 Experience with Agile implementation methodology and best practices in applying Agile to architecture activities

\xc2\xb7 Excellent written and oral communications skills, French and English an asset

\xc2\xb7 Knowledge with Service Oriented Architecture and Domain Driven Design

SKILLS & EXPERIENCES

\xc2\xb7 In depth knowledge in architecture frameworks, methodologies and tools, and implementation experience in I&T (Information & Technology)

\xc2\xb7 Indepth knowledge of technology architectures e.g., Application Integration Platforms (API, Mobility, Notification..)

\xc2\xb7 Strong experience in working with Cloud, open-source and commercial-off-the-shelf, API platforms

\xc2\xb7 Indepth knowledge of Observability stacks from capture, threshold, connection and ingestion and visualisation of Applications, Infra on-prem & Cloud and platforms

\xc2\xb7 Extensive experience in APM, logging and cache technologies

\xc2\xb7 Knowledge of on-prem infrastructure solutions; data centers, compute, and storage

\xc2\xb7 In depth knowledge of cloud-based infrastructure solutions and services, cloud-based delivery models.

\xc2\xb7 Strong experience and skillset of Customer Experience Management, UI/Ux and front-end application development with leading mobile and web frameworks, like Mobile Back-End as a Service (Firebase), iOS (Swift), Android, Java, JavaScript, NativeScript {N}, TypeScript, REST, AngularJS, Angular, Node.js, Xamarin, .NET.

\xc2\xb7 Good understanding of DevOps and Automation and skills on development tools (e.g. Java, Python, Javascript, Microsoft Azure DevOps, Git, etc.), Coding experiences on Java technologies, database design, Data Analysis and Chatbots, AI/ML and Cloud

\xc2\xb7 Good experience in working with platform governance, quality assurance and security teams and specifically information stewards and privacy and security officers in moving platform and relevant pipelines into production with appropriate quality, governance and security standards and certification.

\xc2\xb7 Good experience in working across multiple deployment environments including public clouds, private clouds, and hybrid clouds, through containerization techniques such as Docker and Kubernetes.

\xc2\xb7 Certification(s) on Azure and/or Google Cloud Platform is a plus

\xc2\xb7 Experience in the distributed system architecture

\xc2\xb7 Experience with IT transformational initiatives

\xc2\xb7 Experience in delivering agile architectures.

\xc2\xb7 Familiarity with standard IT security practices such as encryption, certificates, and key management.

\xc2\xb7 Preferred with certification(s) for ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) concepts as a plus.

\xc2\xb7 Experience with full application lifecycle management

\xc2\xb7 Knowledge of Archimate or UML modeling

\xc2\xb7 Transportation or rail related experience a plus
