Job Overview


Turtle Jacks in Oakville is seeking skilled and passionate Line Cooks to join our culinary team. The ideal candidates will have a strong background in food preparation and cooking, with experience in fine dining or catering environments. Experience at Turtle Jacks is a bonus. As a Line Cook, you will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional meals to our guests while maintaining the highest standards of food safety and quality. Pay is determined on level of experience, and is negotiable. There is lots of room to grow.

Duties



Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards. Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely and efficient meal service. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including proper food handling practices. Ordering and Inventory if needed Monitor inventory levels of food supplies and assist with ordering as needed. Ensure all food is prepared in compliance with health and safety regulations. Utilize knife skills for precise food preparation, including chopping, slicing, and dicing ingredients. Participate in catering events as required, providing high-quality service to guests. Support other kitchen staff members in various tasks as needed to ensure smooth operation.

Qualifications



Previous experience in a culinary role, preferably within a restaurant or fine dining setting is required, minimum of 2 years to be considered. Strong knowledge of food safety practices and regulations. Experience in menu planning and meal preparation is highly desirable. Excellent cooking skills with a focus on quality presentation and flavor. Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members.
