Job Summary:Ski Patrol\'s primary responsibility is to provide and promote a safe environment for our guests and employees as well as to provide exceptional guest service. Ski Patrol is responsible for executing essential guest service functions such as responding to medical emergencies on the mountain, transporting injured guests off the mountain to the appropriate facility, and general hill safety. Ski patrol is also responsible for enforcing safe skiing and riding practices and enforcement of the Skier\'s and Rider\'s Responsibility Code. Special circumstances include chairlift and gondola evacuation, avalanche control, and explosives handling. Other duties can be assigned as needed. Ski patrol is a highly visible role on the mountain with a great deal of guest interaction.Job Specifications:

Job Responsibilities:Dispatch ski patrollers and mountain safety to emergency and non-emergency eventsEffectively communicate with all departments and relay essential informationPresent excellent customer service to all guests as well as a positive attitude and assistance to all resort employeesAct as communications center for department via radio and phone in order to monitor and coordinate daily activities, and emergency responses. Monitor all patrol radio communication to keep up to date on activities and to dispatch calls and messagesCommunicate with outside entities, i.e. other local ski areas, county dispatch, and air ambulancesEnsuring accurate completion of all guest-related Enablon entriesPrepare, update and maintain various reports such as daily response logs, snowmobile usage logs, and ambulance call logsWork in a flexible and adaptable manner in order to assist in and complete all tasksPerform various clerical tasks related to department operationsAssist in training new employees and crossing train co-workersContinuing on the job trainingOther duties as assignedJob Requirements:Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office and Web-Based Programs)Strong verbal and written communication skillsAbility to learn a wide variety of information about department operations quicklyAbility to make decisions quickly and calmly in emergency situationsAble to multi-task in an effective mannerKnowledge of Heavenly trails and lifts (Preferred)Ability to walk to and from on hill dispatch office on snowy uneven terrain in winter like conditionsMust be able to speak, read, and write in fluent EnglishVail Resorts is an equal opportunity employer.
