Overview
We are seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, proficiency with various accounting software, and a thorough understanding of financial principles. This role involves managing financial records, ensuring accuracy in account reconciliation, and supporting the preparation of financial reports. The successful applicant will play a vital part in maintaining the integrity of our financial data and supporting compliance with local standards.
Responsibilities
Required: current current certification as a Quickbooks ProAvisor.
Maintain and update general ledger accounts using accounting software such as QuickBooks
Perform bank reconciliations and account reconciliations to ensure accuracy of financial data
Prepare journal entries, including debits & credits, for various accounting transactions
Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes efficiently
Conduct balance sheet reconciliations and general ledger accounting tasks
Assist with payroll processing and tax-related activities
Support governmental and non-profit accounting functions as required
Write detailed financial reports and summaries for management review
Ensure compliance with standards and internal controls
Perform budgeting analysis and assist with account analysis to support financial planning
Skills
Proven experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, and Quicken
Strong understanding of corporate, non-profit, governmental, and public accounting practices
Knowledge of standards, double entry bookkeeping, and technical accounting concepts
Expertise in bank reconciliation, account reconciliation, journal entries, and general ledger reconciliation
Familiarity with accounts payable/receivable management and payroll processing
Ability to interpret financial concepts and prepare accurate financial reports
Excellent attention to detail with proficiency in 10 key typing for data entry accuracy
Strong analytical skills for account analysis and budget management
Effective communication skills for financial report writing and documentation
