We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sushi Chef to join our vibrant restaurant team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation, cooking, and food handling, with a focus on sushi and Japanese cuisine. Responsibilities
Prepare and assemble sushi dishes with precision and creativity, adhering to established recipes and presentation standards
Handle all aspects of food preparation, including slicing fish, preparing rice, and assembling various sushi rolls and sashimi
Maintain high standards of food safety and sanitation in accordance with health regulations
Ensure all ingredients are stored properly and rotated regularly to maintain freshness
Assist in menu development by suggesting new sushi creations and presentation techniques
Serve guests with professionalism and courtesy, providing excellent food service experience
Keep the work area clean, organized, and stocked with necessary supplies throughout shifts
Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery of orders during busy hours
Qualifications
Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or in a similar role within the food industry
Strong skills in serving, food preparation, cooking, and meal presentation
Knowledge of food safety practices and proper handling of raw ingredients
Experience working in restaurants or kitchens specializing in Japanese cuisine or seafood is preferred
Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Excellent attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high-quality standards
Flexibility to work various shifts as needed; prior kitchen or food service experience is highly desirable
