We're looking for a passionate and dependable Executive Sous Chef or Head Chef to lead our kitchen team -- someone who values culinary creativity, consistency, and takes pride in creating memorable dishes in a vibrant brunch setting.

Responsibilities
Lead day-to-day kitchen operations, ensuring exceptional food quality, consistency, and timely service during peak brunch hours
Supervise and mentor kitchen staff, fostering a culture of teamwork, accountability, and respect
Develop and refine seasonal brunch and dessert menus that reflect current trends, guest feedback, and cafe identity
Maintain AHS health and safety standards, ensuring all food handling, cleaning, and sanitation procedures are strictly followed
Manage food cost, portioning, and recipe standardization to align with business profitability goals
Oversee daily prep lists, station organization, and service flow to support fast-paced, high-volume weekend service
Handle inventory tracking, order placement, and vendor communication to ensure ingredient freshness and cost-efficiency
Monitor and control waste, storage rotation, and kitchen efficiency through consistent systems and staff training
Collaborate closely with front-of-house team to ensure smooth communication and guest satisfaction
Take initiative in problem-solving and adapt quickly in a dynamic, music-filled cafe setting
Qualifications
Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a leadership role (Sous Chef or Head Chef), with proven experience in brunch-focused kitchens
Proven ability to lead a team under pressure, especially during peak weekend service hours
Strong understanding of modern brunch cuisine, plating aesthetics, and seasonal menu development
Solid knowledge of kitchen systems, including food cost control, portioning, ordering, and inventory management
Food Safety Certification (Alberta - required or willingness to obtain)
Hands-on, collaborative leadership style with a passion for training and motivating staff
Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally with FOH management
Creativity, attention to detail, and consistency in both food execution and kitchen organization
Reliable, punctual, and available for early mornings, weekends, and holidays as required
