Town Daycare Centre has been serving families in Glace Bay and surrounding areas for over 50 years. Town Daycare Centre operates under the direction of a Board of Directors, with a mandate to deliver quality child care services to the local community. We are seeking a dynamic and visionary Executive Director to lead our organization towards achieving its strategic goals and objectives. The Executive Director will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the organization, ensuring operational excellence. This role requires strong leadership skills, a commitment to process improvement, and the ability to negotiate effectively with stakeholders. The Director works closely with the centre's teachers and staff creating a positive learning environment that is welcoming to all.
Duties
Develop and implement strategic plans that align with the organization's mission and vision.
Oversee daily operations, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness in all processes.
Manage project management efforts, ensuring projects are completed on time and within scope.
Foster a positive organizational culture that encourages teamwork, growth, and accountability.
Negotiate contracts and partnerships that enhance the organization's capabilities and resources.
Represent the organization at public events, meetings, and conferences to promote its mission.
Collaborate with the board of directors to set policies and provide guidance on governance matters.
Interview, hire and train new staff members and support students in placements from the local educational institutions.
Complete ongoing training and courses to remain up to date on childcare standards and procedures.
Communicate and meet with families regarding their children and the Centre's policies.
Experience
Proven 5 years experience in a leadership role within a childcare centre.
Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders.
A passion for the organization's mission and a commitment to making a positive impact in the community.
Must have Early Childhood Education Level 2 or 3.
Current Criminal Record/Vulnerable Sector Check, Current Child Abuse Registry and Current First Aid.
