The Mill Woods Care Closet (MWCC) is a faith-based ministry of Calvary Community Church (CCC) dedicated to meeting the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of those in the Mill Woods community. The MWCC partners with local businesses and volunteers to collect, store, and distribute food, clothing, and small household items to individuals and families in need. One of its primary goals is to become a separate, not-for-profit organization with charitable status.
Position Summary
Grounded in prayer and led by the Holy Spirit, the Executive Director (ED) is responsible for strategic leadership, operational management, financial oversight, and community engagement. Reporting directly to CCC's Lead Pastor and supported by the MWCC Leadership Team, the ED will guide the organization through its next phase of growth and impact, ensuring mission alignment and long-term sustainability.
Key Responsibilities
Spiritual Oversight
Seek to keep in step with the Holy Spirit for commitment to the mission and each aspect of leading this ministry.
Provide spiritual oversight of the MWCC ministry, maintaining alignment with the purposes, theology and doctrinal statement of CCC.
Support the MWCC ministry, staff, and volunteers regularly through prayer.
Leadership & Strategy
Work in alignment with the mission, vision, and values of CCC.
Set and cast vision for the MWCC.
Participate in creating, developing, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating strategic plans that will develop and grow the MWCC.
Work with the existing leadership team to develop the structure for the Board, its bylaws and internal leadership structure.
Oversee the recruitment, training, development and empowerment of volunteer teams that fulfill the objectives of the organization and its alignment with CCC.
Financial Oversight
Develop annual budgets and ensure responsible fiscal management.
Identify and pursue diverse revenue streams, including grants, donations, and partnerships.
Provide regular financial updates and analysis to the MWCC Leadership Team and Greater Society Board.
Provide Oversight while Developing and Empowering a Volunteer Team in:
Operations & Program Management
Recruit, train, motivate and direct volunteers and community partners.
Manage day-to-day operations, including inventory, safety, and logistics.
Ensure compliance with food safety standards, nonprofit regulations, and grant requirements.
Maintain and improve systems for data tracking, program evaluation, and impact reporting.
Fundraising & Development
Recruit, train and activate a fundraising team while also serving as the primary fundraiser and public spokesperson for the MWCC.
Cultivate relationships with donors, businesses, and community leaders.
Engage in grant writing, events, campaigns, and donor engagement and recruit a team to pursue these.
Community Engagement & Advocacy
Be the public face of the organization.
Represent the organization at public events.
Build partnerships with other nonprofits, faith groups, schools, and agencies.

Alignment with the mission, vision, and values of Calvary Community Church.
Proven leadership experience in a nonprofit or mission-driven organization.
Demonstrated success in fundraising, budgeting, and organizational management.
Highly relational with exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
Driven, structured, and purposeful with an entrepreneur spirit.
Strategic thinker with strong problem-solving capabilities.
Experience working with diverse communities and marginalized individuals.
