Shared Health leads the planning and coordinates the integration of patient- centered clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba. The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.
Position Overview
The George and Fay Yee Centre for Healthcare Innovation (CHI), a partnership between the University of Manitoba, Shared Health and the Manitoba government, aims to be a catalyst for healthcare providers, healthcare decision makers and health researchers in Manitoba to generate and facilitate the use of knowledge to improve the health of Manitobans. CHI is home to Manitoba\'s Strategy for Patient-Oriented Research (SPOR) SUPPORT Unit. The Unit enables and supports patient-oriented research through its key areas of data platform and services, capacity development, patient engagement and research methods and support, all within a learning health system framework. CHI is committed to inter-professional education and collaborative practice, advancing clinical learning and academic healthcare leadership development. Currently CHI has more than 60 full and part time staff and trainees.
Main Function:
Reporting to the Dean of the Rady Faculty of Health Sciences and the Chief, Health System Integration and Clinical Planning for Shared Health, the Executive Director, working alongside the CHI Scientific Director, is responsible for the successful leadership and management of staff of the George and Fay Yee Centre for Healthcare Innovation (CHI) according to the strategic plan and directions set out by the CHI Partners Executive Council.
The Executive Director creates strong working relationships with key jurisdictional partners - the University of Manitoba, Shared Health Manitoba and the Manitoba Government. The goal is to support and promote patient-oriented research as an integral part of a responsive, learning health system within Manitoba. The Executive Director works with internal and external stakeholders including healthcare providers, researchers and decision makers focusing on the mission to ensure the latest research and evidence is translated into improvements to care and outcomes for patients and citizens of Manitoba.
