KEY RESPONSIBILITIES




We are actively recruiting for a professional, highly skilled and experienced individual to assume the role of Executive Assistant within the Administration Department. Reporting to the Chief of Executive and Strategic Support, the incumbent is responsible for providing a full range of routine and confidential administrative support services in politically and administratively sensitive areas to the Mayor and Council, senior management and departmental managers, including special assignments involving a variety of projects for the City.




QUALIFICATIONS




This position requires a post-secondary diploma in administration or a related field, along with a minimum of 5 years' experience in progressively responsible confidential administrative positions. A valid Class 5 Driver's license is also required.


The incumbent must be proficient in Adobe Acrobat and MS Office suite including software such as Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Word. The ability to build strong relationships quickly with internal and external stakeholders is required to establish effective channels of communication and a trusted relationship. The incumbent must have the ability to assess and constantly evaluate priorities. Good judgement and discretion is required; including the ability to problem-solve and mediate various situations with multiple stakeholders. Short-listed candidates may be required to complete a skills assessment prior to being selected for an interview.




SALARY




The City of Yellowknife offers a starting salary of $99,194, along with a comprehensive benefits package including a monthly housing and travel allowance totaling $450 per month, and a defined benefit pension plan.
