For over 40 years, we've been the team trusted to take on the tough stuff -- from mine infrastructure and large-scale earthworks to highways, overpasses, and utilities. When the ground needs to be moved, shaped, or stabilized, we're the ones who get the call. We're looking for an Excavator Operator to join our team. This is a key role in ensuring the safe, accurate, and efficient use of equipment that keeps our projects moving forward.

As an Excavator Operator with MacKay, you're the heart of the earthmoving crew. Your precision behind the controls keeps production flowing, supports safe operations, and helps deliver work that meets the high standards our mining partners expect.



You're not just running a machine -- you're sculpting the ground and setting the stage for everything that follows.

What You'll Be Doing

Operating excavators with confidence, accuracy, and care Supporting earthworks and mining operations, from trenching and ditching to mass excavation Maintaining strong situational awareness in busy, high-energy environments Interpreting hand signals, radio communication, and verbal direction Completing pre-op inspections, logbooks, and light servicing to keep your machine performing Cleaning tracks and equipment at shift end because clean iron is happy iron Filling out daily FLHAs and timecards Spotting hazards early and acting proactively to keep the crew safe Helping out where needed -- because great operators are great teammates

Who You Are

You're an experienced excavator operator with the kind of steady hands and sharp judgement people rely on. You care about doing the job safely, doing it well, and doing it right the first time.

ou bring:

Excavator experience in civil construction, mining, or similar heavy earthworks Knowledge of construction layout and staking Experience with 3D machine control systems (asset, not required) A valid driver's licence with a clean abstract Strong communication skills and a calm approach under pressure Flexibility for shifting site conditions and occasional weekend work A safety-first mindset every single day

What's In It for You

This role is based out of Sparwood, B.C., working a 7 x 7 shift rotation

Shifts typically run 12 hours, with overtime after 8 hours.
