Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Excavator Operator to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating heavy equipment, primarily excavators, to assist in various construction projects. This role requires a strong understanding of heavy machinery, safety protocols, and the ability to work efficiently in a dynamic environment. Prior experience with Caterpillar equipment and other heavy machinery is highly preferred. The position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a background in construction and heavy equipment operation to contribute to large-scale projects while maintaining high safety standards.

Duties

Operate excavators safely and efficiently on construction sites, ensuring adherence to safety guidelines and project specifications Perform tasks involving dozer, loader, backhoe, grader, and other heavy equipment as needed for site preparation, grading, paving, and excavation Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of excavators and related machinery to ensure optimal performance Assist with horizontal drilling, paving, and other specialized construction activities requiring precise equipment handling Collaborate with team members to coordinate operations and meet project deadlines Follow all safety procedures and report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards immediately Maintain accurate records of work performed and equipment usage

Skills

Proven experience operating excavators, dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, and other heavy machinery in a construction setting Mechanical knowledge of heavy equipment maintenance and troubleshooting Ability to operate Caterpillar equipment proficiently Strong understanding of construction processes including paving and horizontal drilling Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) preferred for transporting equipment or materials between sites Knowledge of safety regulations related to heavy equipment operation and construction sites Excellent communication skills and ability to work as part of a team Ability to read technical manuals and interpret project plans accurately
