ABOUT THE ROLEThe Events & Program Lead is responsible for planning, executing, and overseeing the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fames (CSHF) induction events, creative initiatives, and educational programming. This role requires strong event management, project coordination, and sponsorship experience, along with a passion for music and collaboration. Additionally, the Events & Program Lead plays a key role in enhancing operational efficiency within the division.WHAT YOULL DO / KEY RESPONSIBILITIESEvent & Project Coordination (50%):
  • Plan, execute, and oversee event logistics for the CSHF Induction Ceremony and regional events, working closely with event producers, suppliers, and partners.
  • Deliver creative programming initiatives, such as Song & Score Week, songwriting camps, masterclasses, and strategic industry events to deepen engagement and foster growth.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with inductees, artist management, partners, and industry stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing & Communications team to amplify program visibility through public relations, social media, and marketing campaigns.
Administration (40%):
  • Oversee event-related invoicing, ensuring accuracy and timely processing, and track CSHF finances to maintain financial transparency.
  • Coordinate music licensing clearances with consultants and ensure compliance with copyright requirements.
  • Support research and planning for inductions.
  • Manage sponsorship agreements, artist contracts, and reporting for grants and sponsorships.
  • Oversee ticketing, guest lists, and provide logistical support for both CSHF and SOCAN events.
Sponsorship & Partnerships Facilitation (10%):
  • Collaborate with the Executive Director on sponsorship and fundraising strategies to sustain and expand programming.
  • Research, prepare, and support tailored sponsorship proposals for prospective partners.
  • Coordinate and deliver comprehensive final reports to funders and stakeholders.
  • Cultivate partnerships with SOCAN, industry associations, and other stakeholders to create new programming opportunities and educational initiatives.
WHAT YOU WILL BRING / QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
  • College diploma or university degree in Event Management, Music Business, or a related field.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in event coordination and logistics, with a proven track record of success.
  • Expertise in project management, with the ability to deliver large-scale events within tight deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and event management software.
  • Experience with budgeting, vendor negotiations, and contract management.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to thrive under pressure and work collaboratively across departments.
  • In-depth knowledge of the Canadian music industry an asset.
  • Bilingual in English and French an asset.
  • Basic understanding of copyright and publishing an asset.
