About the workplace
Join our dynamic team as a Program Lead, Finance and Risk and collaborate closely with the Managing Director to champion community and equity-focused initiatives within Reaching Home! You'll play a pivotal role in managing the entire lifecycle of proposals, from adjudication to fund dispersal, while preparing quarterly invoices, developing engaging training materials, and leading contract negotiations. You'll also oversee data and financial reporting, conduct thorough due diligence and risk assessments, and recommend budget revisions for project approvals
This role is a Full-Time, Permanent role that will enjoy hybrid working arrangements which can be fulfilled primarily from the Vancity Community Foundation office location and your Lower Mainland based home office. Periodically, you'll be required to attend in-person activities or events.
About Reaching Home:
•Reaching Home• is part of Canada's National Housing Strategy-- Reaching Home: Canada's Homelessness Strategy is a community-based program aimed at preventing and reducing homelessness across Canada . This program provides funding to urban, Indigenous, rural, and remote communities to help them address their local homelessness needs.
A typical day would involve:
• Leads financial aspect of community and equity centred call for proposals, adjudication, fund dispersal processes, advance contracts, and budget negotiations. Oversee and lead the review, preparation, and payment of financial claims in accordance with sub-project funding agreements and Reaching Home parameters.
• Provide best advice, and act as a resource for Program Officers for Reaching Home directives, financial claims, and contract process while coaching and leading a highly engaged, diverse team to support the growth of the Reaching Home program.
• Other duties as assigned related to Program Lead, Finance & Risk, Reaching Home.
• Responsible for financial realm of Reaching Home program including preparing quarterly subproject and admin invoices to CE, reconciliation with Greater Vancouver Community Assistant Foundation (FVCAF) accounting and budget to actual reports, financial audits requests, financial reporting as needed such as for purposes of investment decisions and program development purposes.
You Have :
• Bachelor's degree in finance, business administration, public administration, or a related field.
• Professional certification (e.g., CPA, CFA) is a plus.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in financial management, budgeting, and contract negotiations.
• Experience in community-based programs or non-profit sector, particularly in homelessness prevention or housing strategies, is a nice-to-have.
• Experience in coaching and leading a diverse team.
• Proven track record of managing financial aspects of large-scale projects, including fund dispersal and financial reporting.
• Strong financial acumen skills with the ability to manage budgets, prepare invoices, and conduct financial reporting.
• Strong analytical and attention to detail
• Ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders, including urban, Indigenous, rural, and remote communities.

•The expected salary amount for this role is $71,500. As part of our total rewards package, employees may also be eligible for our annual incentive program, subject to program eligibility requirements.•
