The Opportunity
Alacrity Canada is seeking a Senior Program Lead to steward the growth and delivery of its flagship APEX Scale for Export program and provide strategic oversight for the Plastic Action Fund (PAF) and CRM program. This is a pivotal leadership role at the intersection of venture growth, international expansion, ecosystem building, and sustainability innovation.
You'll work directly with founders of scaling Canadian companies in clean tech, circular economy, ocean innovation, and industrial transformation--guiding them through export readiness, scale-up challenges, and international market expansion. Simultaneously, you'll oversee the successful implementation of complementary initiatives (PAF and CRM), ensuring alignment with Alacrity's mission, funder expectations, and impact goals.
This role is ideal for a systems thinker and connector--someone who thrives in dynamic environments, sees both the big picture and the operational details, and is passionate about helping companies grow sustainably on the global stage.
Key Responsibilities
1. Program Design & Delivery - APEX, PAF, and CRM
Lead the strategic design, implementation, and evolution of the APEX Scale for Export program, ensuring high-impact founder experiences and measurable outcomes.
Provide senior oversight and direction for the Plastic Action Fund and CRM program--ensuring operational excellence, partner alignment, and strategic integration.
Serve as a key point of contact for companies in all programs, supporting onboarding, advising, milestone tracking, and resource navigation.
Facilitate strategic workshops, check-ins, and coaching sessions that support scalable business growth.
2. Ecosystem Engagement & Network Coordination
Cultivate and maintain partnerships with key stakeholders including trade agencies, government funders, innovation networks, and industry collaborators.Activate and coordinate Alacrity's international advisor network to deliver timely, relevant support to participating ventures.
Represent Alacrity programs at events, trade delegations, and strategic roundtables to elevate visibility and build collaborative opportunities.
3. Strategic Program Development
Collaborate with senior leadership to evolve APEX and CRM models in response to market needs, policy shifts, and emerging opportunities.
Identify and co-develop new partnerships, pilots, or sector-specific programming that enhances Alacrity's export and innovation mandates.
Contribute to ESG, investment readiness, and sustainability initiatives as integrated program components.
4. Internal Coordination & Operational Oversight
Coordinate cross-functional collaboration across Alacrity's communications, operations, and data teams to ensure smooth program execution and tracking.
Oversee CRM systems and reporting functions, aligning internal processes with funder and organizational requirements.
Mentor junior team members and help onboard new facilitators or contractors to uphold program quality as Alacrity scales.
Qualifications
7+ years of experience in venture support, program leadership, economic development, or innovation ecosystems.
Proven ability to lead complex, multi-stakeholder programs from vision through execution.
Direct experience working with scaling companies and entrepreneurs--ideally with international expansion or export experience.
Strong ecosystem relationships and the ability to collaborate across public, private, and non-profit sectors.
Skilled in facilitation, relationship-building, project management, and systems thinking.
